On Thursday 14th August, Littlemoor Therapy Practice Limited quietly turned 5 years old.
Five years. Half a decade. It feels both like the blink of an eye and the longest, most rewarding journey of my life.
I started Littlemoor during a time that was far from easy. It was 2020 the world was shutting down, we were in the midst of a global pandemic, and I had just come out the other side of postnatal depression. My daughter had just turned one, and like so many new mothers, I was navigating the complexities of identity, exhaustion and healing.
But I had a goal - to build something meaningful. Something that not only honoured my own recovery but also offered support and hope to others going through difficult times. So I put one foot in front of the other, even when it felt impossible, and I began.
The Power of Starting Small
The early days of the practice were filled with late nights, nap-time admin, and therapy sessions squeezed between the chaos of parenting and a pandemic. There were moments I doubted myself, moments I wondered if I was in over my head. But I kept returning to my “why”: I wanted to help others believe in their ability to change, just as I had learned to believe in mine.
I started with a single client, a simple website, and a quiet hope that I could make a difference.
Now, five years on, Littlemoor Therapy Practice has supported so many individuals through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life’s many turning points.
We’ve grown. I’ve grown. And I’m so proud of what this practice has become.
Goals Aren’t Just for the “Big” Moments
Reaching this 5-year milestone has reminded me that goals don’t have to be grand to be powerful. Some of the most transformational goals are the quiet ones: getting out of bed during a hard week, reaching out for help, or saying “yes” to yourself for the first time in a long time.
Whatever stage of the journey you’re on - whether you’re starting a business, healing from something painful, or simply trying to believe in yourself again - please know this: small, consistent steps can take you somewhere incredible.
Set goals, however modest they may seem. Honour your progress. And don’t be afraid to start messy.
Thank You for Walking With Me
This milestone isn’t just mine - it belongs to every client who has trusted me with their story, to the friends and family who have cheered me on, and to the professionals and colleagues who’ve supported my growth along the way.
To my husband, who believed in this dream even when I doubted it - thank you.
To my daughter, who unknowingly gave me the motivation to become my best self - thank you.
To my mum - thank you for your unwavering support and for making my therapy room feel warm and welcoming with your thoughtful decorating touches.
To my husband’s parents - thank you for your kindness, encouragement, and everything you've done behind the scenes to help me keep going.
To my landlord, and his family - thank you for the warm welcome into your building and for creating such a supportive space to work from.
To my supervisor - thank you for your endless wisdom, grounded advice, and for always cheering me on when I’ve needed it most.
And of course, to my clients - thank you for trusting me with your stories, your struggles, and your growth. It’s been an honour to walk beside you.
Here’s to What’s Next
Littlemoor Therapy Practice was born out of personal struggle, but it has grown into a place of hope, strength, and real change. That is worth celebrating.
So here’s to 5 years of healing, growing, and showing up. Here’s to every challenge that became a lesson, every moment of doubt that led to strength, and every single person who made this dream a reality.
And here’s to the next five years - whatever they may bring.
With gratitude,
Rebecca.
