If you’ve ever been told to “just calm down” or “stop overthinking”, you already know how misunderstood anxiety can feel.
The truth is, anxiety isn’t just in your head. It’s in your stomach when you can’t eat before a meeting at work. It’s affecting your sleep - when your lying awake tossing and turning. It’s in your energy, your relationships, and even your sense of self.
And if you’ve been living with anxiety, you also know this: It’s exhausting.
But here’s the good news, it doesn’t have to stay this way. And you don’t have to manage it alone.
Understanding Anxiety And Why You Feel This Way
Anxiety is your body’s natural alarm system. It’s designed to protect you in moments of danger. But when that alarm gets stuck in the “on” position, even when you’re safe, it can make everyday life feel overwhelming.
What’s worse is that anxiety can start to make your world feel small. You may avoid things, second guess yourself, or feel like you’ve lost touch with the version of you that felt calm and confident.
I know this feeling well, not just as a therapist, but as a parent.
When my daughter was a baby, I remember the constant loop of anxious thoughts running in the background: “Am I doing this right?” “What if I’m missing something important?” “Everyone else seems to have it together, why don’t I?”
Social media made it worse. Everyone looked like they had the perfect routines, the smiling babies, the answers. Meanwhile, I was Googling every decision at 3am and questioning myself non-stop.
It wasn’t just mental worry it lived in my body. I felt on edge, overstimulated, and tired in a way that sleep couldn’t fix.
That experience helped me understand, deeply, what anxiety can do and how important it is to have tools that actually help.
How CBT Helps You Calm the Noise and Reclaim Control
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) helps you explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and gives you the tools to gently untangle them.
Here’s how we work together:
You’ll learn how anxious thoughts form.
You’ll discover practical ways to challenge those anxious thoughts with kindness, not judgment.
You’ll take small, manageable steps toward the things anxiety has been holding you back from.
And you’ll build a personalised toolkit to handle anxious moments with greater confidence and ease.
CBT is active, collaborative, and designed to create real, sustainable change - not just talk about it.
This Isn’t About “Fixing” You - It’s About Helping You Feel Like Yourself Again
You already have strength - CBT helps you reconnect with it.
Whether anxiety is showing up in your work, relationships, or simply in your everyday peace of mind, it is possible to feel better. To breathe more deeply. To sleep more soundly. To stop spiralling and start grounding.
